The Invention of the New Orleans Restaurant

Project development and research

CecilFilm is currently collaborating with the Southern Food and Beverage Museum (SoFab), a nonprofit organization that celebrates Southern foodways. In the project, Senior Curator Elizabeth Pearce explores West African, French, and Native American influences on New Orleans cuisine and the development of the New Orleans restaurant as we know it. This documentary footage will become part of the museum's permanent exhibit.
